Persie's Deck House
Up the long blue staircase and tucked into the hillside among the palm trees and gardens is Persie’s Deck House. It’s a private sanctuary seemingly isolated from the local bustle of Long Bay but just across the road is Long Bay Beach.

The house is saturated with color both inside and out balancing the brilliant tropical landscape with bright and vibrant colors. High ceilings and continuous windows in the Living Room and Master Bedroom face the ocean allowing breezes and the sound of rolling waves to permeate, connecting you to the ocean through your senses.

Three decks connect to the house. The large Front Entry Deck with a view of the ocean has big Adirondack style chairs and a table. It’s a great place to sit in the late afternoon or early evening. From here you can see the sun set over the ocean with its golden sky above. Walk through the Living Room and exit onto the Side Deck. It connects the Living Room to the separate but attached Master Bedroom/Bath. This deck is partially covered and especially private.

The fully covered Back Deck is a garden dining room with a flowering trellis on one end and a rock wall and garden along the back. It too connects to the Master bedroom but on the backside of the house.

Leave the doors of the house open during the day and the house and decks flow together, connecting the inside and outside in a natural way, ever reminding you that you’re in the Caribbean.

You’ll likely spend most of your time on the beach or exploring the island but when you’re home you’ll be nourished by the charm of this house that was once a shack - turned civilized by renovations and additions and a generous helping of paint and flowers.

Master Bedroom - has a cathedral ceiling, screened openings with shutters that face the ocean, a private bath and queen bed and bunk beds.

Side Deck – connects the Living Room with the Master Bedroom.

 

View from the Back Deck into the house – a Central Hall connects the Living Room at the front of the house with the Back Deck and is flanked by the 2 Bedrooms, a large Bathroom and Kitchen.

 

Kitchen – Fully equipped and with a window over the sink that looks out onto the Back Deck and towards the garden beyond.

 

Living Room – has a cathedral ceiling, windows facing the ocean, wrap-around bench, access to Front and Side Decks, TV and VCR.

 

One of 2 small bedrooms located in the main house - the other has built-in bunk beds.
